Support Oakville Blades Jr A Hockey Club for their Breast Cancer Fundraiser Pink in The Rink!

On November 15th, at 7:00 PM, the Oakville Blades will host their annual Pink in the Rink game at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex, facing off against their local rivals, the Milton Menace. While the game promises to be an exciting clash on the ice, the real goal of the evening goes far beyond the final score. This year, the Oakville Blades are partnering with the Princess Margaret Breast Cancer Centre, one of the world’s top cancer research institutions, in an effort to raise $20,000 for cancer research and patient care.

Cancer is a devastating disease that touches the lives of nearly everyone, whether personally or through friends and loved ones. The statistics are sobering—nearly 1 in 2 Canadians is expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Yet, in the face of these daunting numbers, there is hope. Thanks to institutions like the Princess Margaret Breast Cancer Centre, strides in research, treatment, and patient care are saving lives every day. As one of the top 5 cancer research centres globally, Princess Margaret is leading the charge in the fight against cancer, and they need our support to continue making progress.
This year’s Pink in the Rink event is not only an opportunity to watch a great game of hockey but also a chance to make a tangible difference. By attending the game, buying a ticket, and participating in the evening’s fundraising activities, you are directly contributing to the groundbreaking research that Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is conducting. Every dollar raised will go towards better treatments, more effective therapies, and the hope of one day finding a cure for Breast Cancer!
The Oakville Blades have a long-standing tradition of community involvement, and the Pink in the Rink game is one of the most meaningful ways they give back. With the help of leaders like Catherine Smallegange and Lynne Indovina, who are spearheading the fundraising efforts this year, the team is aiming to raise $20,000 for the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in support of Breast Cancer. But they can’t do it alone. This is where you come in.
We are calling on the Oakville community—and beyond—to rally together for this important cause. Your support is crucial, regardless of whether you are a devoted Blades fan, a cancer survivor, or someone who has experienced the disease’s effects.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Attend the Game: Come out to Sixteen Mile Sports Complex on November 15th to watch the Oakville Blades take on the Milton Menace. Tickets are available online, at the door or through the Showpass app.
2. Donate: Can’t make it to the game? You can still contribute by donating directly to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in support of the Oakville Blades’ fundraising goal. Every dollar counts, and your generosity could help save a life.
3. Spread the Word: Share the news about the Pink in the Rink game with your friends, family, and social networks. The more people who know about the event, the more support we can gather for this critical cause.
Cancer does not discriminate. It impacts people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. But together, we can make a difference. By supporting the Pink in the Rink event and the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, you are taking a stand in the fight against Breast Cancer and helping to fund research that will bring us closer to a cure.
